packages (3 ounces each) ladyfingers
1 package (14 ounces) caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup milk
1 package (19.8 to 21.5 ounces) fudge brownie
mix
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1cup pecan halves
1cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Vegetable cooking spray |
| Thoroughly
spray bottom and sides of 13 x 9-inch pan with vegetable cooking spray.
Line bottom of pan with ladyfinger halves, split sides up; set aside. In
medium saucepan melt caramels with milk over low heat, stirring
occasionally until smooth and blended or place in medium microwavable
bowl and microwave on high (full power) 3 to 4 minutes or just until
melted, stirring twice during cooking. Stir until smooth and blended.
Drizzle half of caramel mixture over ladyfingers in pan. Do not spread.
In large bowl combine brownie mix, water, oil and egg. Stir with spoon
until blended. Spoon and spread over caramel and ladyfingers in pan.
Drizzle reserved caramel mixture over the brownie mix. Using tip of
knife gently swirl into batter for marbled effect. Top with pecan
halves, gently pressing onto surface.
Bake at 350o for 30
minutes. (Brownies will not test done.) Sprinkle chocolate chips over
warm brownies, gently pressing onto surface. Cool completely. Cut into
bars.
