Fresh Strawberry Trifle
2 packages (3 oz. each) ladyfingers

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)

1-1/2 cups cold water

1 package (4-serving size) instant vanilla pudding & pie filling mix

2 cups heavy or whipping cream

3 cups sliced fresh strawberries

1/2 cup strawberry preserves

Line bottom and side of 2-1/2 to 3-quart bowl with ladyfinger halves, split sides up; set aside.

In large mixing bowl combine sweetened condensed milk and water. Add pudding mix, beating well. Refrigerate 5 to 10 minutes.

In small mixing bowl whip cream until stiff peaks form. Fold into chilled pudding mixture. Spoon half into ladyfinger-lined bowl. Top with additional ladyfingers.

Combine strawberries and preserves. Spoon 2 cups over ladyfingers in bowl. Garnish with remaining strawberry mixture just before serving.
